Be sure to save the date – Saturday, October 30 – for our annual Summit barbecue! Pitmaster Jim Arthur and the organizing committee are already working hard to make this event a big success. A pulled pork sandwich has been added to the menu of brisket, ribs, and sides of greens, baked beans, and coleslaw. The hours have been extended to be open from noon to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Weavers Ways Coop is lending a big hand to provide sales and pre-orders of whole briskets, ribs, and Jim’s special sauce. The barbecue has become a whole-church project for outreach to all of our neighbors. We are also hoping to raise lots of funds for our renewal campaign. We will need everyone to volunteer!! There will be jobs taking orders, working as cashiers, putting spice rub on the meat, helping prepare the food, making desserts, filling the orders, selling sodas and desserts, setting up and cleaning up. Everyone can do something, and no one needs to work more than one shift. Please volunteer for what you like to do, or say ‘yes’ when you are asked. For questions, contact Don and Marcia White (215) 424-7955 or Peggy and Rob MacGregor (215) 242-3095.
