Renewal Campaign Update

Planning for the Renewal Campaign is in full swing, with the Campaign Committee coming together under the leadership of co-chairs Mary Moorhouse and Donald White. The Committee needs members to help with planning and with particular tasks. Our next general meeting is Wednesday evening, February 25th, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. We will review what we have learned in the potlucks and begin preparing the campaign proposal. Planning for the Renewal Campaign is in full swing, with the Campaign Committee coming together under the leadership of co-chairs Mary Moorhouse and Donald White. In January and February we hope that every member and friend will come to a potluck so we may hear from you regarding the mission and direction of the church, building issues and the Renewal Campaign itself. (There will be no “pitch” at these potlucks: we are gathering information). These potlucks are helping us assess where we are in our mission and in the support and commitment of the congregation as we move forward in our fundraising for the building repairs. We are also interested in other ideas or concerns you have regarding the future of Summit. The Committee is expecting to present a proposal for a Renewal Campaign to the Session and Congregation in March.We encourage every member and friend to read the “Needs Assessment” prepared by architects Runyan and Associates; extra copies are in the pastor’s office. This comprehensive report (with pictures) describes the tasks ahead to keep our building safe and sturdy. Sticker shock alert: the recommended repairs are for the next decade. We will not need to accomplish everything in this Renewal Campaign.
