The Friday Evening REACH program has welcomed more than 50 kids each night in its opening month for the 2009-2010 year. Please speak to Lori Springer if you would like to volunteer (even if just occasionally) or contribute to the program in some other way.
The Friday Evening REACH program has welcomed more than 50 kids each night in its opening month for the 2009-2010 year. Many are returning youth who told us they couldn't wait to come back in September; parents also stopped in to confirm how excited their children were. They played basketball, table hockey, and pool, and also had wonderful conversations with adults and each other. This year we began a more formal training of our screened volunteers - including a manual - so they can do their work with clarity and ease. We have a small adult/youth ratio and the atmosphere is energetic but orderly. Please speak to Lori Springer if you would like to volunteer (even if just occasionally) or contribute to the program in some other way.
