“We do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.” These words from Paul’s letter to the Romans remind us that prayer is not necessarily easy or something we just “know” --- that we depend on the Holy Spirit for help. The Spirit intercedes for us directly, and also through the words of scripture, where we find prayers that we can make our own. This fall our adult study will look at some of them, from the psalms and the cries of the prophet to the prayer that Jesus taught, and prayers on behalf of the church from Paul. All are welcome!
