Thanks to the hard work of all members of the 125th Anniversary Committee, our celebration on Saturday night, October 17th, was a huge success, followed by a celebratory worship service. The afternoon began with an open house at Carl and Kathy Shaifer's to welcome former pastors. By 6:30 the Fellowship Hall was transformed; friends greeted each other over an elegant dinner; pastors offered reflections; and all enjoyed music (with dancing) to Russ Joell and the Ray of Light Blues Band. Evan Meyer emceed the program, and Mary Moorhouse inspired us to think about Summit's next 125 years. At worship the next day, former pastors and neighboring clergy led us in prayer, the choir sang beautifully, and the handbell ringers performed a piece written especially for the occasion. Thanks especially to Marcia and Don White, committee co-chairs; Hector Badeau, banquet coordinator; and Gayl Koster, music director. No messages have been posted.
