Recently the Trustees decided to purchase its electricity from a provider of renewable wind power called "Clean Currents." This purchase will take effect in mid-June 2013. Power from this renewable source will take the place of power purchased from a provider of conventional power, mainly coming from generating plants using coal and natural gas. This will help Summit reduce its carbon footprint and encourage investment in renewable energy. Thanks to research by Allan Walters - who surveyed a range of providers - our electricity will now be cheaper than that provided by our last company. A win/win!
