New REACH Director

Welcome to Christopher Scott, who will be our new REACH director in the fall! Christopher comes to us from First Presbyterian Church of Germantown, where he has coached their youth basketball team ("The Disciples") since 2005. He is also an ordained Elder, has been a youth advisory delegate to the General Assembly, and volunteers at the Germantown Avenue Crisis Ministry (GACM). Christopher grew up in South Philly, and now lives in the area. He graduated from Strayer University with a degree in computer networking in 2007, and in his professional life he works with a technology company under contract with the Philadelphia School system. He came to us through the recommendation of Pastor Nancy Muth and Director Eileen Jones of GACM. An ad-hoc team of REACH volunteers and Personnel Committee members interviewed Chris (Susan Beetle, Shirley Atchison, Hector Badeau, Jane Von Bergen and Cheryl Pyrch). Chris has already been to REACH and attended worship at Summit. We are excited that he will be joining us and will soon be introducing him to the congregation.
