Elder Diner celebrated the end of a fun and successful season on Tuesday, June 30, with a festive potluck lunch. We will be taking a break for the summer; please speak to Anne if you are able to help with the program in the coming year.
Elder Diner celebrated the end of a fun and successful season on Tuesday, June 30, with a festive potluck lunch.Steve Fitzgerald serenaded on the keyboard as a special treat; this year, with 23+ participants each week, we’ve grown to three tables! Each Tuesday members, friends and neighbors meet at noon to enjoy delicious food lovingly prepared, conversation and laughter. Deacon Anne Glass, chief cook and bottle-washer (literally) has been the coordinator and genius behind the expansion of the program.Kathy Shaifer, Sylvia Forman (who has attended with children Carl and Elinor), Annie Clark, June Cairns, and Cheryl Pyrch have also been cooks and helpers, along with diner participants; Esther Slade and Myrtle Collier have given steadfast assistance, and Hector Badeau has helped with driving. Lynn Trimborn, Neighborhood Nurse from UU House, joins us monthly for blood pressure screenings and check-ins.A special thanks to Anne Glass for her warm welcome and outreach to elders in our community, and for the many hours of planning, shopping and cooking. We will be taking a break for the summer; please speak to Anne if you are able to help with the program in the coming year.No messages have been posted.
