On Sunday, September 12, we  welcome our new Music Director, Mr. Ryan Tibbets.  Mr. Tibbetts is a doctoral candidate in the Choral Conducting program at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He received his BA in Music from Princeton University, and his MM in choral conducting from the University of Delaware.

Ryan served for two years as Director of Liturgical Music at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Middletown, Delaware.  He has conducted choirs of all kinds:  from the chorus in the Indiana University Opera Theatre productions, to a singing group in a retirement community, to the choir at St. Joseph’s.  Voice is his primary instrument but he is skilled in piano and organ, and looking forward to expanding his organ repertoire on our fine instrument.  The search committee was impressed with his musicianship, his appreciation of sacred music, and his enthusiasm for “making music with other people.”

Ryan is originally from Wilmington, DE and is returning to his home base of the Philadelphia area to be near friends and family while he works on his dissertation.  Please join us in welcoming him, and in saying THANK YOU to the search committee– Susan Beetle, Chair; Sylvia Forman, Secretary; Shirley Atchison, Dave Rupp, Charles Wright and Cheryl Pyrch - for their hard work.
